Recycled Red Kites

Co-Designed and made with Robin O’Connor Lowe, these Red Kite puppets are made almost entirely out of reclaimed and recycled materials, as a way of keeping festival tents from landfill.

Every year people leave their tents behind after festivals, or buy cheap, breakable tents. We took these tents and have turned them into 3m wide Red Kite walkabout puppets. The kites soar and swoop above the crowds on a backpack rig, using old tent poles to keep them in the air.
