Using reclaimed and second-use wool, these workshops ignite children’s imagination, encouraging them to create creatures from scratch.

In the workshops, children will learn how to make pompoms using a handy pom-pom rig, glue and decorate their pompoms with feathers, googly eyes and felt, and tie them onto a crossbar to turn them into marionettes!

I offer these workshops as a creative and fun hour-long session, or as an educational 2-hour session about Curlew Conservation, where the children get to meet ‘Debbie’, my life-sized curlew marionette, learn about why curlew are endangered and how we can help, and finally finishing the workshop off by creating curlew pompom puppet chicks of their own.
